2027 CALL FOR ABSTRACTS! 

We are delighted to announce that the Alaska Public Health Association (ALPHA) Health Summit will take place January 19-21, 2027 at the Dena’ina Center in Anchorage, Alaska. The Summit theme will be Stronger Together: Strengthening Public Health Through Partnerships. We are now accepting abstracts for presentations or posters.

Showcase your research, best practices, and tools for public health in Alaska at one of the largest public health conferences in the state! 

 Abstracts must be submitted by 11:59PM Alaska Time on October 12, 2026

READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING:

We are seeking presentations for the following:

• 5 minutes (Lightning Talk)
• 15 minutes (10 for presentation + 5 Q&A)
• 30 minutes (25 for presentation + 5 Q&A)
• 45 minutes (preference for 45 minutes will be given to presentations that include an interactive or skills-based learning component)
• Poster 

When submitting your abstract(s), please be ready to include: 

• Full name, credentials, position title, brief bio (2-3 sentences), and email address for all presenters (up to 4 total)
• An abstract of ~350 words or less that includes information about the public health problem, what the presentation will cover, and how it will cover this information
  • Please spell out acronyms/abbreviations.
• 3-5 Topic Keywords
• How your topic encompasses the event theme
• Description of the Target Audience
• 3-5 Learning Objectives (using Bloom’s Taxonomy, i.e, behavioral terms or active verbs such as discuss, list, identify, analyze, etc. - do not use “understand”)
• A completed financial disclosure form for each presenter (required for continuing education accreditation)

Please note that all presenters must be available to present in person. We unfortunately cannot accommodate virtual presentations.
